Pakistani social activist Sarim Burney arrested in human trafficking case

 Sarim Burney, noted social activist and chief of non-profit trust has been arrested in Karachi on suspicion of human smuggling.The head of the Sarim Burney Welfare Trust International was detained at Karachi airport by the anti-human trafficking cell of Federal Investigators upon his return from the Washignton.       

He was held in a joint operation between FIA and an international agency as Burney is facing serious charges related to human trafficking.                                  newsbrea king   

The trust under his watch assisted many underprivileged  including children, women, and men, since its inception. SBP announces 3 day closure on Eid ul Adha

SBP Pakistan is gearing up to celebrate Eid ul Adha on June 17th after the Zil Hajj moon sighting on June 7th last week. In light of this, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a three-day public holiday for banks, extending the holiday period from June 17th to June 19th, 2024 (Monday The announcement was made via a press release issued by the central bank, confirming the closure of all SBP branches during this period.
